DAI-EL BRE Properties & Benefits

Some Automotive and Oil & Gas applications require base resistance beyond what fluoroelastomer grades can provide.

Daikin’s range of Base Resistant Elastomer grades, DAI-EL BRE, offers excellent base resistance, mechanical properties and anti-flex fatigue.

All grades are available as NFS FKM – no fluorinated emulsifiers used.

Suited for turbocharger hoses, o-rings, oil seals and diaphragms in high-heat environments

Peroxide curable

No post-curing necessary

Compared to fluoroelastomers, DAI-EL BRE’s base and amine resistance is higher, but its low temperature flexibility and fuel resistance is poor, and its cure speed is slower.

DAI-EL BRE is resistant to coolant, engine and transmission oil, fuel, solvent, steam and acid. It shows heat resistance to around 200°C.

BRE series

All DAI-EL BRE series grades come with excellent mechanical properties and resistance against bases, amines, steam and acid.
